St. Thomas or St. Maarten?

We are definitely diving on our cruise with Dive Aruba and probably Dive Bus in Curacao. Thinking about diving at another stop. Would you dive in St. Thomas or St. Martin? Can anyone recommend an operator at either place?

I've done both, buy really liked Admirality divers in St. Thomas. We did the hospital ship, and it really was a great dive.;)

Dive Aruba is a great choice! We did not have a good dive experience in St. Maarten. I do not recommend diving there as there was not a lot of marine life and the corals looked a little beat up.

I would also pick St. Thomas over St. Maarten by a wide margin, and I'd dive with Admiralty dive again too. I had a very good time with them last December.

DW uses Dive Safari in St Maaten. They are located at Bobby's Marina. Take the water ferry over to the the 1st stop and it's a short walk. Their web site is: www.divestmaarten.com/ . Depending on the day and time you are in St Maarten will determine whether or not you can do the Shark Awareness Dive (DW has done it once although the one at Stuart's Cove in the Bahamas is better (in her opinion).

 

RCI uses Underwater Safari's in St Thomas (you can also book directly with them). They are located right there at Havensight Mall.

 

Both dive shops have a great staff.
