chrisbd1 Posted November 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2007 When I look on NCL's site, some bookings have Free Upgardes in the Special Offer column. Does anyone know what the free upgrades mean? Since upgrades are plural, it doesn't seem to imply cabin catagory ungrade (singular). Thank you. deliza Posted November 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2007 Well, I've been keeping an eye on the May 31st Majesty sailing, and when I priced it today it had that in the special offers column. When I check further, it was only if you booked a catagory I (interior) you got upgraded to an F (outside, maybe porthole, I'm not sure), but that was the only catagory the upgrade applied on. NEcruisers???? Posted November 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2007 The free upgrades from the site are within the category you are purchasing. This is: if you are purchasing a Balcony cabin BC and you are given a upgrade of 2, you will now be entitled to a Balcony BA cabin. The way I was told you have to stay within your category you cannot go from a inside cabin to a oceanview cabin or a ocean view to a balcony as a free upgrade. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.
deliza Posted November 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2007 The upgrade they are offering on the cruise I just priced was from an interior to an oceanview (cat I to Cat F) so that is apparently not true, at least on all sailings.
chrisbd1 Posted November 16, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted November 16, 2007 OK, thanks. That's fine, we are going to book a balcony. For our upcoming cruise I booked BE gty and was assigned a cabin 2 catagories higher anyway but I might bite the bullet and pay for a BC to get a BA.
