travelbuds Posted November 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2007 We are planning a southbound cruise ending in Vancouver at 7AM. What is the earliest flight time should we be looking at to get out of Vancouver comfortably without being rushed. Plan to take taxi to airport. How long to get through customs? Thank you. Fore67 Posted November 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2007 Depends on if you get off the ship at 7 or have to wait for luggage or breakfast, etc. Against rush hour traffic, it is between 20 - 30 minutes to the airport. Are you flying internationally? Canadian airports are still asking international travelers to be at the airport at least 90 minutes pre-flight. So you are already at 2 hours, without disembarking. Do you have a connecting flight to catch? That would factor into the mix as well. If you truly don't want to be rushed, then I wouldn't book anything outbound before noon, but that's just me. RickT Posted November 25, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2007 I agree... if everything works smoothly, you could book a flight before noon. But with luggage, traffic, customs, etc. Noon would be the earliest I'd try and book something.
Host Caroline Posted December 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2007 What day do you disembark? If it's a weekday ..sheesh.. I would not try it.. even on weekends airport lines are just simply awful.. if you can do the US Direct program I'd do that in a heartbeat.. .you can avoid so much of the hassle.
