Salty Dawg Posted September 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2004 We are thinking of going to St. John from St. Thomas on our next cruise. We have read that although not official, Salomon Bay Beach tolerates 'clothing optional' sunbathing, if it is done in the less used areas of the beach. Can anyone share any information on this? The Islander Posted September 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2004 Hello Salty, Salomon is a small, pretty beach. Hiking trail accessiable (or boat) only. It was for a long time known as the the clothing optional beach on St. John, however as it is part of the National Park... the rangers in recent years have been inforcing the law more. The law being that public nudity at beaches is illegal in the Virgin Islands. They usually issue a warning and then a ticket for repeat offenders. That being said, some people still do it. --Islander *****
