heychadwick Posted November 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2007 I got back last week and did a tour with Levi Baron himself and did not see a single mosquito at all! I hear that they are around some of the marshes on the other side of the island, but not most places. The tour with Levi was the best excursion of our entire trip! We went on the Roseau Valley Best. I cannot say how awesome that this trip was. "Roseau Valley Best Middleham Falls: The tallest waterfall on the Island. The hike to this waterfall is about 45 minutes one way, walking through part of the Island lush rain forest. For the first 20- 25 minutes you would be climbing up, which is the most difficult walk on the tour. From then it is flat and down hill until you get to the waterfall. There is a huge pool at the base of the waterfall with fresh clean water which will be tempting you to get in. Trafalgar Falls: (two waterfalls in the same area) 10 minutes walk one way up a few steps. The walk is not too difficult and it is the second most visited site on the Island. Titou Gorge: One of the most unique areas on the Island and it's also a spot where part of Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 was filmed. One can get to bathe in hot and cold water at titou gorge. To enjoy the gorge you would have to take the short swim up the cave like area. It's about 10 feet at it's deepest point, but if only about knee height when you get n the cave-Like area. There is an easy 7 minutes walk to the gorge. Wotten Waven Sulphur Springs: (small boiling pools) 2 minutes walk one way up a few steps. Depending on how long you stay at the waterfalls, we could also stop at the Botanical gardens and Morne Bruce. This is a great tour/hike (my personal favorite) but can be a bit challenging if one has any difficulty with their backs, legs, hips or if one is short in breath due to lungs or heart condition, they should not attempt this tour. The duration of this tour is about 5.5 to 6.5 hours and cost $55.00us per person (4-10people) or $180.00us (1-2 people)."

Your tour sounds great, I think we will stick with the mild tubing and Emerald falls. If it were last year I would have said maybe but since April I had 2 cardiac stents 46 years old my daughter 14 tore her ACL and had surgery my Husband 49 dislocated his shoulder twice had shoulder surgery then had a heart attack and 4 stents..........Not trying to get sympathy, I just still can't believe all the stuff we have gone through. So we will take the leisurly tubing and emreald falls hike. Thanks
