Finflapper Posted September 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2004 I wake at some weird hour of the early morning and just want a cup of coffee as I sit on my balcony. Will room service always be available at all hours? Or will there be a place on the ship which will remain open for me to go and get the coffee? My first time on the Serenade. dmarch@islc.net Posted September 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2004 All the lines I have been on offered 24hr room service. Coffee should be cake!
CruznTom Posted September 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2004 There is always 24 hour room service, but I never have the patience to wait the usual half hour to 45 minutes, nor can I justify at least a $1 tip for coffee even though they do bring a carafe. I bring an insulated mug and am back enjoying coffee in less than 10 minutes.
Finflapper Posted September 6, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 6, 2004 DM: Thanks for the info. Cruzin: So are you saying there is always a place on board open to serve coffee no matter what the hour?

For me it is not the wait, but disturbing my sleeping wife that I'm concerned about. I suppose I could order room service to the library outside my room... Finflapper Posted September 11, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted September 11, 2004 Bicker: I would also like to know. Also, curious to know if food is allowed in the library section. If so, what a "novel" idea :)
DollyCruise Posted September 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2004 The only place I know of to get coffee 24/7 is room service. You probably can take coffee into the library.... that's where they serve High Tea. If you don't want to wake a roomie.....call room service then meet them in the hall. marvholly Posted September 11, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2004 I am not familiar with the policies on RCI, how4ever, most ships have a small area of the deck buffet open 24/7 where coffee, tea and often some food snacks are available. Procedures/policies differ by cruise line.
TinaLee Posted September 13, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2004 Seems to me that on SOS you could get coffee 24/7 at the little coffee bar just behind Finian's Rainbow Lounge. I'm sure there is somewhere on the ship set up with 24 hour coffee. I've never been on a ship that didn't offer it somewhere! As posted above, it may be at the 24 hour buffet area. madelinerose Posted September 15, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2004 I've read on many, many threads that the coffee on all RCI ships is just awful! Is this correct? If so, with so many people on these threads or not, why hasn't RCI changed the coffee? I'm sure many pax must complain to the head honchos or while on the ship. Just curious....
bUU Posted September 15, 2004 #11 Share Posted September 15, 2004 wblynch just posted a message raving about how good the coffee was on Serenade of the Seas: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=79341
bUU Posted September 15, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2004 The OP asked about information about coffee on-board. wblynch posted a message about coffee on-board. I provided a link to that message to the OP. Get a grip Dolly.
Hypo Posted October 30, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 30, 2004 I have been awake and out of the cabin at 0430 and was the only passenger up and about. Just ask any crew member you see where to get coffee. They will be happy to direct you. (They were concerned that I might not be feeling well as I was up and about so early, once I explained that I had jsut worked mid-shifts the previous week, and was still on "nights" they were talkative and had coffee with a couple of deckhands) Mark
