Sitka Submersible Excursion

Has anyone gone on this? My 13 y/o really wants to so I'm wondering if it's worth the money. Also, how much of a hassle is the tendering in Sitka?

My mother and I are booked on this tour in Sitka in early Sept. It sounded interesting to us so we'll be looking forward to info as well.

Have been there several times. Last year we did back-to-back cruises the end of Aug/Sep. The first week we were there the weather was beautiful - sunny and warm - we wore bermudas. Three days later on our journey south, it was raining- really heavy. None of the tours were cancelled. But people were complaining because they couldn't see anything.

It is very easy. Most ships just lower their tenders. Some ships have to use the ports tenders.

There are 2 docks in Sitka where the tenders can drop off people. Both are within walking distance of the town - 5 minutes tops.
