"Tour Available, Book on Ship" But I'm on land!

I wanted to sign up for a 'Winner Creek Gorge Hike' in Alyeska. The online info says it's "available, book on ship". I'm on the land excursion part before cruising so this doesn't make sense. I have 2 thoughts: Is it becuz the trip is less than 2 weeks away or maybe since it's a hike we don't need to sign up ahead & should just book thru our tourguide when we get there?
