ohiocruisemom Posted December 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2007 Going on the Enchantment on the 31Jan and will be using a wheelchair and still be in a boot from ankle surgery next week. When I booked this trip there were no handicapped accessible rooms available, but just kept calling and was able to get one today. Anyone have experience with Enchantment and using a wheelchair? Thanks Ohiocruisemom
cb at sea Posted December 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2007 No direct experience, but there are tons of folks in wheelchairs and scooters, so I'm assuming it's not an ordeal!!! You'll have a great time! (Just try not to run over the folks walking in front of you!!!!!) Bon Voyage!
webteach Posted December 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2007 Just took my mom on Enchantment in a wheelchiar. The room was great- huge and the bathroom was very accessible. Large balcony. I have pix of the room. email me at scweber1@comcast.net.

mtncouple Posted December 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2007 When we were on Monarch last Dec. SIL had same surgery, boot, etc. :( (but used crutches as she just had the screws removed 3 days before sailing.) I emailed ahead and asked about some sort of help getting on the ship as crutches are difficult in crowds and on sloped planks. We let them know when we got there and they were right on it! :) She had her own guy to push her all the way to her room!! We all got to go at the same time. :D (SIL went with DH & I, DBro is too stubborn to admit he might enjoy it!) He just opened up gates and walked us right through all the long lines. It was the same with disembarking. He came and got her (she was using crutches) at the pool deck in the a.m. and escorted us all the way off through customs (even helped us with that) and all .....right to the curb. Such wonderful service on and off!
