Tennessee Cruiser Posted December 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2007 Help, Would like input re. best ways to arrange for scuba diving in Bonaire. Will be there in April. Prefer to go with a guide if at all possible. Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions, etc. that can be provided. Ray
DaytonGirl Posted December 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2007 Hi Ray! Everytime we've been to Bonaire we have only dove with the resort we were staying at - Captain Don's. I have also heard very good things about Buddy Dive Resort and Carib Inn. Depending on what time you are in port you might not be able to go on one of the regularly scheduled boat dives but the shore diving is fantastic nearly everywhere. Shore diving in Bonaire is extremely easy and non-intimidating. The reef is only a few kicks away from the dock in most places. You could rent tanks and spend the day just diving the house reefs in front of Buddy's and Captain Don's and be extremely happy. You really wouldn't need a guide. There is a rope that leads from the dock out to the reef at both places. On your return up the reef you just hang a turn at the rope and follow it to the base of the stairs. Couldn't be easier! :)
