SantaMonicaLinda Posted December 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Hi All, We have our Alaskan Cruise planned and will be sailing on the Rhapsody of the Seas on July 11th for 7 days. We will be in a JS in the aft of the ship..8592. I was persuaded to take that cabin instead of the usual mid ship balcony. Someone tell me that I will not be disappointed. please???? Also....we would like to take the train in Skagway. There are so many options. We'd like to take the train up and back and not take the bus at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? We'd love to find other folks who will be sailing on that ship, but as I scanned these boards...I didn't find anyone. Thanks for any and all help! GMoney Posted December 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2007 Hi - I can't help directly with your questions, other to say that when I sailed Radiance in Sept, I chose to go with a lower grade cabin and spent the saved $ on excursions. Aft cabins are very nice for viewing the scenery. If you post your Skagway question on the AK board, you'll get lots of feedback. I did a hike and partial train ride there; the train all the way both ways just was not my cup of tea. Below are some links for your excursion research... CleoPat Posted December 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2007 Went in '06 and also did an OV instead of a Balcony to save $ for excursions. We did the Midnight Run Train in Skagway. It does't go ALL THE WAY, but it is roundtrip and it's later in the date, so we had time for other things (it was also a little less money). I loved it:)
