luvmyjewels Posted December 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2007 Dh and I went on our first cruise this fall (RC's Majesty) and had such a great time, we decided to plan a family trip next fall. We have 3 kids (will be 4,6, & 7 at time of travel) and will also bring along my mother on the trip. I've been looking for weeks at cruises and different CC boards and I can't make up my mind which ship/line and which destination to go to. I know we want to go to the Carribean for 7 days and want to stick with an east coast port. Right now I'm looking at either the Carnival Glory (Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Martin) or the RCC Mariner (CocoCay, Charlotte Amalie, and Phillipsburg). But I'm open to other options. I'm on a fairly strict budget, so Disney is probably going to be out and the Freedom/Liberty/Independance of the Seas is probably to much for my budget as well. Does anyone have any words of wisdom as to which ports/ships are best for kids the same age as mine?? Thanks!! Shell
nmcrzer Posted December 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2007 I would take the Mariner... I think Coco Cay is an excellent port for kids that age.
crusinmama06 Posted December 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2007 Mariner without a doubt because they are both going to St.Martin/Thomas but only Mariner is going to CoCo Cay. It's a great CHEAP way to have a beach day and be fed for free. When you go to Nassau you would have to pay for a taxi and pay for your food on the island (or pay for an excursion) Mariner is a nice ship and it's leaving to go to the West Coast. SailingDeanna Posted December 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2007 I would reconsider and do Disney during off season. Your kids are a perfect age and it is a magnificent cruise. We cruised Disney in September and saved a ton of money because of it. We also chose an inside cabin to save money. Just a thought. I am also a RCCL fan. But I'm glad we did Disney when our kids were younger.
