Vancouver Pier & Hotels

I will be sailing out of Vancouver in Sept on the NCL Star. I am taking the 6 day Pacific Coast trip. I was wondering if there are any reasonably priced hotels near the pier? How far away is the pier from the downtown area? What is the name of the Pier? We are going to arrive a day before so are there any short day excursions that are worth taking?

 

I know I have many questions, but I would really appreciate any help. I am from the East Coast and don't know much about the Northwest.

Have you looked at the Alaska and Canada boards? I've been doing a bunch of research the past few months prepping for a cruise in May and there seems to be more Vancouver info there.

Most cruise ships dock at Canada Place, it's right on the edge of downtown.

There some reasonable hotels downtown but you have to search for them.

June,July ,Aug & sept are high season for tourists.
