fredkinstar Posted December 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2007 What's this I hear about Serenade stopping in St. Croix for fuel on occasion? If so, does anyone know how to tell when it may happen? Sailing on Jan. 5th- love to have an extra stop!
Mach1 Posted December 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2007 They usually do this every third cruise. We were lucky enough to have this happen to us on our ’06 sailing. And I’m hoping I’ll get lucky again in ’08! :) They stop late in the evening about 8 or 9 – we had late dinner and missed it to go ashore. We were there for 3 hours, the stores opened up & there was music in the court yard. We did not venture to fare away as it was dark on some of those side streets. :o If you can find who/when the last stop was you can figure out when the next one will be. Maybe even check roll call threads for chatter about it.

MLG4MEE Posted December 31, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2007 We were on the Serenade in Jan. 05 and we made the fuel stop in St. Croix. Some of the stores, vendors & bars stayed open so we could do a little shopping or get a drink. We didn't venture very far from the center of town. They also had a dance group putting on a show in the street and the Moko Jumbies were there for pictures. We weren't expecting the stop so it was added bonus to our trip. sandytoes03 Posted December 31, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2007 I've never heard of that before--that would be so much fun to get an added stop.
Yorkshire Voyagers Posted December 31, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 31, 2007 We had the extra stop at St Croix in March 07 when we sailed on Radiance. We missed our late seating dinner and ate at a restaurant ashore where we could see all the dancers on stilts etc., from our table - absolutely great evening and all the better for being totally unexpected. We were told by the crew that the decision to do this was left entirely up to the Captain - he made the announcement with his lunchtime message.
