Tropical Train Ride & Mangrove Nature Cruise

We've done the Pineapple Plantation, which was very enjoyable, and the combination train and canal eco-cruise which was also very enjoyable. The Pineapple trip has a short bus ride to the plantation (narrated) where you learn about how the grow, harvest, process and ship pineapples. You tour the fields, factory and get to eat both fresh and dried pineapple - delicious! The train/eco-cruise also has a brief bus ride, then an hour cruise on a canal where we saw sloths, monkeys, toucans (the highlight for me) and loads of birds. Then a short bus ride to a small gauge train which took us through the country side, including a banana plantation. We also stopped at a Dole banana processing "plant" where they ready bananas for shipping. That was really interesting as well. We were on Coral Princess so I'd imagine both excursions would be offered on Island too.

Cheers,

Kirsten

We are on the Island Princess - Departing Feb 6 -

And have no idea which shore excursions to go on - has anyone taken the Tropical Train Ride (Coffee Train) Excursion offered by the cruise lines ?

Any comments, ideas would be appreciated

Thanks !

We are on the Feb 6 trip also. We've reserved the Tropical Train Ride. Maybe we'll see you there. I picked that excursion because I wanted to avoid a long bus ride and it sounded different.
