Quebec City on Sunday

We will be in Quebec City on Sunday. Is everything open or are most shops and commercial sites closed? It's our only day there on our cruise.

We were also in Quebec City on a Sunday. Many of the shops and attractions were open... don't know if that's always the case, but it makes sense when a big ship is in town.

All stores are always open on sunday's. So, don't worry, you'll have everything to look for when you'll be in town ! ;)

Can you tell me if you can get a walking/carriage tour in the city? The ones with our ship are sold out. Thought maybe there were tours available in the city that we could do on our own. We'll be on the Constellation in Quebec City 10/6.

Glad to hear everything will be open on Sunday. We'll be on the Jewel and be in Quebec City on Oct. 3rd. Our friends who've been there love your city. Thanks for the info.

We were just there on Sunday and everything was open. You can get a carriage ride very easy they are located as you walk off the ship they were very colorful. It is a beautiful city you will enjoy it very much. Brush up on your French as you will need it.

October 3rd, I think you will get nice colored foliage too because its started.

I am so looking forward to seeing brilliant foilage colors (and eating lobster in New England on shore--any recs for places?). I have only read and seen one travel channel program about the fall foliage. It is my understanding that everything depends upon the temperatures --whether there is an Indian summer, etc. And that you must go inland (how far?) to see more colors because of the limitations of vegetation on the coastline. And the colors vary depending on what the temps are in different regions

 

Is there anyone else out there going Oct 4? Cabins still available through TA's but not through Princess.

 

We three are staying three nights before embarking at the Hotel Dominion 1912. Hope the hotel is as nice as what I have read about it on tripadvisor and In Travel&Lesiure.

We will be there on Saturday (with the cruise) and have extra time on Sunday before flying home. The only person I have contacted, so far, for a Sunday "ride through town" charged $50 CAD per hour (which is a little too high for our budget). Any suggestions? We will be there the first Sunday in October.

If you are there overnight you can walk the old town very easily (upper and lower town) and to the Citadel. There are carriage rides that are not $50 CAD although not sure what they run in September...
