Empress Dec 03 "Sick Sailing"

Just got home from 11 days of adventure. Captain claims 140+ down with "Noro-crud". My faminy and I in a JS thank God were confined to the cabin for 48 hours as 2 of us had it at the same time. Missed 3 islands. Oh well. All doctor visits and meds were free. After 20 cruises this is the first time we have had problems. Lucky I guess. And to cap it off, American has sent our luggage to the North Pole or somewhere. Non stop MIA to PHX had a long line last night at customer service here in Phoenix. Good to be home.

Sorry to hear that you-- and so many others-- were ill! Hope you're feeling better.

I was on the Empress in October, and I found it odd that there were no hand sanitizers around. There were containers of hand wipes at entrances to dining facilities, but they were never prominent-- you really had to look for them. And there were never containers provided nearby for discarding used ones.
