Ru5tY Posted April 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2004 When I go swimming/snorkeling in Nassau & Freeport, where can I leave my valuables (digital camera, wallet, backpack, sunglasses, etc.)?? Are there any lockers available for rent? Price?

scubagirrl Posted April 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2004 There are no lockers to rent, and I wouldn't advise you to take your valuables to the beach with you. Use a simple beach bag or pack - nothing that would catch an eye. Don't forget, theft can come from your fellow travelers, not necessarily locals. I usually carry a waterproof pouch or wallet for just a few bucks and ID... and a disposable camera.

IndyWeb Posted May 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2004 A sprting goods store, such as Galyans or Dicks would carry waterproof wallets. Voyager of the Seas 2001 Paradise 2002 Century 2004
cruisincantwait Posted May 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I did not find any waterproof pouches etc.. anywhere close by. But I did find waterproof pouches, bags, safes, etc... on ebay for less money than some of the websites. Most were being sold by sporting good stores on ebay also. If you do ebay it is worth a try. Thought I would add this for anybody who might need the info!! First time cruisin!! scubagirrl Posted May 5, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2004 http://www.keepitdrycase.com/watpagpouc.html You can use a waterproof pouch and/or a nylon wallet. Just bring along some cash and one Credit card and some ID. Leave the big bulky leather wallet at home or in the cruise safe. (noone cares if your bills get splashed) Never leave your good camera on the beach. If you're going parasailing etc. You can bring a small pouch or wallet with you and leave it in the boat, or in the front compartment of the jetski. Yin Yang Posted May 5, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Wal-mart also has this type of thing on their site for alittle cheaper. The shipping and handling; unfortunately, make up for that though. I also checked with a fishing mart in my area, and they have Pelican cases for the same price sans shipping costs. For those needing a case for money/bills only, I'd try a cheap kid's snorkel kit I've found at Wal-mart. The one I purchased contained a cylinder case with a screw-on cap with a rubber seal. It had a cord attached to hang around the neck, and it floats. Very handy and cheaper than the pouches w/ a mask and kiddie snorkel to boot! Ru5tY Posted May 9, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted May 9, 2004 when i went jetskiing in freeport, i ended up putting my bag with the jetski operator's booth (ocean motion watersports)... however, i put my money/CC/sail&sign in a ziplock bag and placed it in my board/swimming shorts at blue lagoon, just keep it on the beach when u go swimming and keep an eye on it...there arne't that many people on the beach... celbercrz333 Posted June 26, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 26, 2004 I've heard that Magellan's catalog has a very good swimmer's pouch for keeping valuables safe and dry.
