Can you carry your own bags on board?

Anybody wanting to carry on their own luggage, if I was working security I would pull them out straight away and check them at least twice and more if possible.

 

In terms of security, what difference does it make whether the luggage is carried on by the passenger or by the porter? It all ends up in the passenger's stateroom, either way. It's not like a commercial aircraft where you only have access to your carry-ons while you're onboard.

 

In fact, it would be easier to do something nefarious (and anonymously) by depositing luggage with the porters rather than carrying it oneself.

Why would you want to carry your own luggage on?

We live in strange times okay.

The bomb dogs need to check all the luggage.

You thought of security and bombs - I thought of marijuana and other recreational pastimes. I agree that anyone unwilling to part with their stuff would make me suspicious also - Micheal Vick's water bottle anyone?
