Infinity Question

HI

Just wanted to get a little advice and info as I have never sailed on Celebrity.

My Mom is considering a trip that is being sposored by her Senior Club.

10 night cruise on the Infinity to Hawaii, leaveing out of San Diego. It includes a two night stay at the Barona Ranch resort and Casino in San diego pre cruise and she is considering an oceanview cabin on the Plaza Deck.

Category 6.

The price seems very good and I was just wondering if anyone can provide any info about this trip, the Infinity itself, Is this is nice Cabin and a good area of the ship? Has anyone been to the Barona Ranch resort?

Also the cruise is April4-16 2005. I know that can fall into spring break territory. Would that be a problem on this cruise?

Any advicde will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Vicar:

I just looked at the Fleet Schedule on X's site for the Infinity and, according to that, the Infinity is scheduled to do a TransCanal cruise during the time frame you mentioned. Accoring to the Calendar, there are no Hawaii cruises scheduled at all for the first half of 2005. When I checked X's Destinations page, after the December 2004 Hawaii cruise, the next Hawaii cruise is October 2005.

IAE, a 10-night cruise to Hawaii is a one-way cruise. Therefore the cruise actually will depart from Ensenada, Mexico -- something she and the group may want to consider.

Hi!

I can't speak to the date or land package, so I won't.

Plaza deck is fine, it's an especially good bet if your mother is prone to seasickness, as you won't get a lot of motion, and it certainly isn't bad for noise, in my experience.

We've done Hawaii-Ensenada, and enjoyed it very much. I would be sure that she likes days at sea ;)

Connection details to the port at Ensenada would likely be handled by the packager, and it's a short trip from San Diego

The ship is a nice 90,000 tonner - what would you like to know?

We are on Infinity leaving Honolulu on April 6, 2005 and arriving in Ensenada on April 17. This cruise has been sold out for some time and that's why it doesn't show on Celebrity's website. There could not be a cruise leaving from Ensenada on that date.

Hmmmmmmmm This is odd.

I have the Flyer here in front of me and it does indeed state the trip is from April 4-16, 2005

It does in fact leave from San Diego , but on reading further it does Disembark in Ensenada.

But it is very much a hawaiian cruise. And it does say the Infinity

I am not dissputing what you are saying you saw, just puzzled between the 2.

Thank you though for pointing it out, I will have to look into this :)

reading this flyer over

The 4th is the day they fly out to San Diego and they spend 2 days there,

So the ship leaves San Diego on the 6th according to this.

This is very strange from the replies I am getting here. definately need to check this out further. :(

It is possible that someone still has some group space available, but the cruise most definitely leaves from Honolulu on the 6th of April 2005 and arrives in Ensenada on the 17th. Cruisers are then bussed to San Diego. Is your mother from the San Diego area? If not I would think the stay at Barona would be after the cruise. I think someone is confused. All the people on our roll call are planning to go to Hawaii before the cruise which leaves there the 6th.

VERY VERY SORRY FOLKS!!!

My marginal eyesight (which is only a little better than my selctive hearing *LOL*) is just kicking in here *LOL*

Reading the small print

they fly into San Diego on April 4th and spend 2 days there,

Then on the 6th they FLY to Honolulu where they board the Infinity and then they Disembark in Ensenada on the 16th

In the words of Emily Litella on SNL

"Thats very different....never mind" *LOL*

Sorry about that folks

Thank you all for the advice though :)

As to the original question, yes, I'm sure she'd love it. There is a good group on the roll call for this cruise already. The cruise has been sold out for months except for some group space which is being held. The TA for your mother's group must be one who has space. Infinity is a great ship and I would recommend a balcony for a Hawaiian cruise, but the outside cabins are also very nice.

MA Bell,

thank you so much, sorry for causing all the confusion. The way the brochure is printed it was a little misleading.

The big eyecatching print made the it seem like it was leaveing out of SD

the smaller print at the bottom spelled out the whole itinerary.

Sounds like a great trip. Mom sounds really up for it.

Thank you again and you have a great time on your trip :)

... we stayed on the Plaza deck aboard Infinity in that category on our Alaska cruise a year ago. By the time I booked it, the only cabin available was a few doors down from Guest Relations and an open lobby area, and I was a little worried about that, but the worries turned out to be entirely groundless. No noise, no elevated traffic, VERY VERY CONVENIENT with close access to central staircases, the glass elevators, etc. I really enjoyed the "look" of the Infinity oceanview cabin, with the large ROUND window, compared to the square/rectangular window in the oceanview cabins on the C-class. (Haven't been in a balcony cabin yet -- but we've got one booked for Millennium in December, woo-hoo) Hope your mom has a great time! -- TR

Vicar,

I have been to Barona and it is a fantastic hotel/casino. The rooms are wonderful and the restaurants are also great. The casino is one of the cleanest I've encountered. I'm sure your Mom will enjoy it.

I've also been on the Infinity and have nothing but good things to say about her. I'm booked for the 12/05 Hawaii trip. The outside cabins are very nice and comfortable, I'm sure she'll be content with that category. The Plaza deck is very quiet, there are cabins above and below, so she shouldn't experience any noise at all. Also, if rough seas are encountered, the Plaza deck is great if you're prone to seasickness.

Thank you so much. :)

I am sure she will love it, She has been on sevral cruises and does pretty well as far as seasickness goes, but its good to know that the Plaza Deck is a good place to be "just in case"

thank you again :)

Is your mother computer literate? Have her come on over to our Roll Call and get acquainted. She can get a little profile of some of her fellow cruisers. Many of us have signed up for the Old Lahaina Luau on Maui and the Hollywood Movie Tour on Kauai.:)
