There are a few that get mentioned here on these boards. You may want to do a search to find some of them. We are booked with Air force 1 tours for our up coming cruise to St. Thomas. Here is a link to their website www.havefunwithus.com they have an early tour that start at 9am and a few hours at the beach. There are a few shopping packages for those that like to shop. I'm in love with all the photos on their site:D

We just got back and did the shopping/island tour/beach with Papa Bear of Air Force 1 (Have Fun With Us). He was the greatest. We ended up with 13 people (12 from our Roll Call) and since we didn't sail until 8 pm, we got an extended tour. The only problem was that we didn't get to Sapphire Beach until 4 pm (island time, 3 pm ship time), which was a bit late.

He even stopped at his house and we met his dog, Scoobie.

I wanted to visit the Pissarro Gallery and had left my map on board. He escorted us to the front of the building.

He'll take care of you! Tell him Joan from the Carnival Miracle tour on 12/20 sent you!

Take an open taxi truck from the port to Coki beach. When you get there ask for Germain. He will look after you, rent umbrellas, chairs and snorkle gear if you don't have your own. He will also give you dog bones to feed the fish and there are thousands of them. Your taxi can come back for you or you can pay one way then get a ride back. Germain called our taxi and she came back to get us when we were ready. The ride was an adventuere all its own. All in all a cheap day. When we were done, about two hours, we had plenty time to shop right at the port.

what is the best excursion to do in st. thomas? need suggestions. going in may 08. thanks for any suggestions. me, dh and 15 year old daughter

No snorkling or snuba.

We stumbled into this quite by accident.

We wanted to see something of St. Thomas but didn't want to do a ship excursion. While walking through downtown we were approached by Luen Anthony and asked if we wanted to go on his tour at 12:30 that day. We did and we were glad we did.

For only $20 pp we saw a great deal. The open air bus was very comfortable and Luen has a great speaker system so all can easily hear what he is saying. We left from downtown St. Thomas but he returned us back to our ship at Crown Pier which saved us $8 pp.

I wish I had known earlier about him because he said that for the same $20 he would have picked us up at Crown Pier as well. The stop of Sapphire Beach is lovely but with the traffic we were reluctant to stay and have him return for us. If I were doing this again I would post this on CC to get a few more people and then contact Luen and see if he would pick us up around 9 or 10 am. That would leave more time for the beach.

We weren't interested in shopping that day but he also drops passengers off in town after the tour and then returns to pick them back up and return them to their ship. What a deal!

DH & I just got back from Carnival Freedom. On St. Thomas we took the Sunny Liston tour of the island. It included from 1-3 hours of shopping, you choose when you reserve, a great tour of the island, and your choice of time at a beach. Sunny was very interesting, in fact, at each stop other tours' guests were coming to listen to him. The tour was very lively, singing songs, etc. Our tour was the one everyone else wished they were on. If you just want a fun day, look up Sunny Liston, you will be glad you did.
