tiggerfan616 Posted December 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2007 I am currently booked in a mini suite and have received a call for an upgrade to either an AC or AD for the same price. It sounds like a good deal can anyone help me with the differences between the 2 and which one I should take. Thank you

Thank you AC is fwd., on the ship..see where you are going AD is aft., on the ship...see where you have been - less wind on the aft.,balcony but we prefer fwd. All a matter of choice, suites are basically the same. Good Luck with your decision:)
Zimomiller Posted December 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2007 Go for the AD aft. We had an AD and BA aft on our last Jewel cruise. They are magnificent and the lack of wind combined with the view aft cannot be beat.

Don't wait too long to decide -- this deal is one not to be passed up. When you received the call, did they offer to HOLD it for a certain number of hours until you decide? Normally, FCFS, the passenger who submits their "yes" answer first wins. The "offer" is not offered to only one passenger but to many;)
suzysunshine Posted December 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2007 I was also offered an AC upgrade but wasn't sure. I decided I would rather have the AD. Ten days after the original offer came in, I countered for an AD and got it for half the amount. To be fair, I believe that department was closed for several days over the holiday, so I wouldn't recommend holding out for ten days normally! But I think there is a certain amount of negotiating that you can do.
