SFNC cruising Posted December 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2007 We will be in Nassau next month on the Celebration. Planning to take a carriage ride on arrivial, then snorkel at Blackbeards Cay until around 5pm. Looking for something fun to do from 6:30 until around 9:30pm. Ship leaves at 10pm. Adult fun for a married couple:rolleyes: .
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted December 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2007 Many people take a taxi over to the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island and play the beautiful, huge Casino over there or visit the shops. While there you can walk through the underground tunnels called The Digs and see the various aquariums. A ticket to do that costs $29 per person during the day but after dark the security guards leave for the day but the tunnels stay open and it's free. Other than that, Senor Frogs is the bar of choice in downtown Nassau and can be pretty lively when a ship is in port late. BobK/Orlando
sunnysavannah Posted December 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2007 Really? About what time is a good time to go? And is there somewhere to eat that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
MartyinGA Posted December 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2007 I think security leaves the digs after 5pm. Outside atlantis, in the shops by the marina, are reasonably priced meals. Dinner for two will be @$40. There are cheaper alternatives, including snacking till you are back on the ship! Have fun.!
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted December 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 27, 2007 Really? About what time is a good time to go? And is there somewhere to eat that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? In the winter they do leave around 5pm. In the summer it will be later because it stays light later. Dining is expensive on Paradise Island. Better to eat on your ship and then head out, or eat in downtown Nassau. Remember the free Digs is only useful for ships that stay in port late into the evening. Many ships pull out at dinner time. tigerdadky Posted December 30, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2007 I wouldnt venture to far from the ship after dark. Senior Frogs and the Hard ROck Cafe are close to the dock. I think you can see all you want to see of Nassau during the daylight. ID stay on the ship after dark and enjoy it.

KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted December 31, 2007 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2007 While you shouldn't wander around alone after dark in any city, groups of two or more will have no problems venturing out and about in the evening. BobK/Orlando
Snorkel2Much Posted December 31, 2007 #10 Share Posted December 31, 2007 While you shouldn't wander around alone after dark in any city, groups of two or more will have no problems venturing out and about in the evening. BobK/Orlando I second Bob's advice. Also note that Marijuana is just as illegal there as back home, and a large chunk of the reported robberies tend to center on naive tourists looking for weed. Stay out of alleys/back streets and you'll be fine.
