nextel walkie talkie

has anyone brought their nextel walkie talkie and was able to get thru from far away.

 

 

i live in fla and i can talk to people in virginia and carolina but i wasnt sure if it was a distance thing.

 

with hurricane ivan coming to my area, i want to be able to 'talk' to family granted they have service.

A guy on our last cruise used his from Acapulco to Chicago! I will be bringing mine on the next cruise as the walkie talkie service is free. His worked all through Mexico to the states without a problem.

Our Motorola walkie talkies didn't work at all when on board the ship---no satellites to connect with the signal. They also didn't work from any of the Caribbean ports to phones back home.
