No.. there are no free 800# from the bahamas, and the local # given don't connect. You are better off purchasing a Batelco (Bahamas Telephone) calling card from a nearby souvenier shop.
You can pick them up in denominations of $5, $10, $20.. the cost is approximately $1 per minute.
