are carseats needed for infants

we will be in nassau for 1 day and dont know what we will be doing. if we needed to take a taxi, do we need to bring our carseat along for our 1 y/o?

At the moment, it's wise to bring your own carseat. The unions are deliberating about haveing their own, but for now it is not settled. Driving is crazy in the bahamas, so if you are taking a cab, use your seat beats and bring the carseat.
