We will be visiting Grand Cayman in March, 2008 and would like to leave the ship and go to a beach for the day. Any suggestions on which beach and how we would get there, cost, facilities etc.?? All info appreciated.

For $5.00 per person you can take a taxi/bus to Sea Grape beach.

3 chairs and 1 umbrella for $19.00. Rental place had parasailing, banana boats, wave runners and water trikes for rent. Food service with menu and drinks available. Nice restrooms. And taxi/buses waiting to return a load to town. Do keep in mind that they wait until they fill-up with passengers before they move.

I believe that all the beaches are public in GC. Any of the beaches on 7 mile beach , is excellent. We used to go on land vacations there and stayed at London House. There is a Ramada hotel near there . They have a nice section of the beach. You can rent out beach toys , take banana rides , enjoy the beach. You can eat in the hotel restaurant if you like. Some people like Sea Grape Beach. The cabs are cheap there and they speak English. You can get a cab once you are off the ship and negotiate a fare / ask for their recommendations. Also, you can ask the crew on the ship for their beach recommendations. The crew usually knows where the good beaches are / and can also tell you how much this should cost. have a great trip!
