Carnival Legend Thoughts?

I have booked the Carnival's Legend in June 2005 out of NYC to SJ, Tortola, VI. My wife and myself, 3 children, g17, b19, and b22, as well as my 75 yr old motherinlaw will be going. I would like some feedback on the quality of this cruise as others have experienced. I have taken NCL, RCCL, and Carnival many years ago. We are not very "picky" when it comes time to take it all in. Would appreciate some thoughts. Thanks.

I sailed the Legend in April, but on the southern Caribbean itinerary. I really loved the ship! Decor is a little less bold than other ships in the line. The size of the ship was also a plus for us as it isn't too large or small. Service and food were all good. I only had one complaint and that was the prime rib. The Golden Fleece specialty restaurant was well worth the extra money. We never lacked for something to do and met a group from CC on board so we always knew someone. :)

We took this cruise last summer...myself and my husband, our four sons (ages 18-22) and four of our sons' friends. They all agreed it was their best vacation ever! They absolutely loved The Baths at Virgin Gorda in Tortola. Tell them to go through the boulders over to Devil's Bay...the Carnival video guy followed them over there and took tons of video of them jumping from the boulders and snorkeling.

The ship was great and the food and service were terrific. I would go again in a heartbeat.

My only disappointment was the disorganization of boarding the ship in NYC. Hopefully the port authority has their act together. Carnival was very organized once you made it inside the terminal.

We will be on the Legend June 14-22nd 2005. From most of the posts it seems like it's a pretty good cruise. I think people are much too picky in their expectations. For any cruise line preparing 10,000 meals a day and making eveyone happy is no easy task. Any other comments on this cruise is always appreciated!

We have sailed 2x on her and wont mind going on her again. We sailed on her on Sepetember 2003 from nyc but went to the Bahamas due to Hurricanes. Now I know why the big differences in price for July to Sept. Anyway we loved the ship and so booked same thing from nyc again for July 2004. We could not have asked for a more perfect cruise. The ship off course beautiful. San Juan we loved even though other fellow cruisers did not. We did the Bacardi Tour and City Tour. It was nice. The driver was nice enough to drop off passengers for some real authentic Puerto rican food or shopping. The Legend came in at like 1.30 and we were of by 2.15 not 3 like the brouchure says. We would have come in early but we had some rough seas the half a day of the first sea day. St Thomas was great. Loved it. I recommend the Paradise Point and Megans Bay Tour. The beach was wonderful. Not to many people and the trip up to Paradise point was just so SCARY but fun. Its like the truck is going to go down the mountain side and on the way up the truck stops for some great kodak moments. There was another Carnival ship there and is was cool how when they are leaving the communicate with one another with there horns. Tortola is a unknown port. This is a port where its best to book a tour with Carnival NOT on your own plus since the ship leaves early its better safe then sorry. We did the Dolphin tour and it was great. We then did some quick shopping which there is like a flea market right next to ther port and went back to the ship. All in all it was great and we had a great ending to the cruise. Seeing nyc go bye on the ship is great but not at 6.30am. We came in at 7pm. We had to go to Bermuda because of a passengers health problem. It was a beautiful day when we came in. Perfect weather. It was the most beautiful moment I have ever seen nyc in. We had helicoppter escorts and coast guard escorts. Then as we were coming in to port the Carnival Victory passed us and both ships blew the horn and all the passengers waves and appalued at the great moment. It is a very nice expericane to sail from nyc. A friend went in June and had a perfect cruise too. I am sure you will enjoy.
