looking for more submarine info

Still looking at doing the Atlantis Submarine. Have been making some inquiries, and been told some really useful information. Now I just want another opinion from someone who's be there.

Is it true that the submarine dock is only a short walk from where the Mariner docks? What is your definition of "a short walk"? [i]Does the Mariner always dock at the same pier?[/i]

Does it sound reasonable to take a morning submarine trip, then go back to the ship to pick up beach gear and head out to a beach for the afternoon? (Wouldn't want to lug all the beach bags on a submarine.)
