Jill0526 Posted January 17, 2008 #553 Share Posted January 17, 2008 Radio I can't thank you enough for sharing your cruise with us. We sailed on the Liberty over Christmas. It was so wonderful to see your pictures. I found the link to your photo album on Fotki. I'd love to print some of these photos to add to the scrapbook I am creating for my family. Would you allow us to make copies of some of these pictures? If so, what's the best way to do it? Thank you again for taking us along.
K1200S Posted January 17, 2008 #554 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I too was on the January 5th sailing. If you go back and look at Radio's picture of the embarkation area you see it is not very crowded. I didn't get there until 2:30. Imagine that picture with wall to wall people. For future cruisers get there before 1pm. You will have less of a wait to get processed.

medfordgirl Posted January 28, 2008 #569 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Hi Radio, we were on Radiance when you were on Liberty. I even filmed you guys when you were coming into Puerto Rico. And then you pulled up beside us and blocked my view!;) We were on the port side and if you were on the starboard side then maybe you saw us on our balcony? We were in 1060 10th floor right next to the elevators with a huge balcony. It was pretty impressive watching you guys pull in. :)
lynyrd Posted January 28, 2008 #570 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Radio, thanks so much for all the hard work you put into this "Live from" thread. We have sailed Carnival several times and are going to be taking our first cruise on Royal Caribbean this coming October on the Liberty. I though I was excited before, now I can hardly wait. Just from viewing your pics I can already tell that this will be first of many cruises with RCI. Thanks again. :D BTW, I "borrowed" one of your pics of the Solarium Whirlpools for my desktop. I hope you don't mind. That whirlpool is one of the things I am looking forward to the most. :p

going2cruz Posted January 30, 2008 #573 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Hey my ears were burning... :) I'm actually a Nikon man... but according to DPReview, this camera only goes up to ISO 400. That's not particularly sensitive for low light situations. However, it also says it has three different image stabilization modes. I would pull out the manual and read up on that. That may be the best solution to your problem. Image stabilization can usually buy you an extra two or three stops of sensitivity, which in this case (assuming you were shooting at ISO400) would be equivalent to ISO1600 or 3200. Generally you would want to avoid the Night settings, as they are usually designed for dark situations where you have a stable platform. Those tend to use longer exposure times, and would end up blurry if you were holding the camera in your hand. Not much help, but hopefully a point in the right direction... Theron (who is STILL working on the album from his LAST cruise in December!) Great spreadsheet......thanks!!!

KLMMD11 Posted January 31, 2008 #575 Share Posted January 31, 2008 Radio, great reporting. Can you offer any more details on the car rental in SXM. Price, driving conditions, traffic. I want to spend our day there at Maho Beach, thought about a cab but not sure which is better/cheaper. Thoughts? Thanks
