Question RE: Chankanaab lagoon & biodegradable sun screen

Wonder if anyone who's been to Chankanaab Park recently could give me some current info on the status of the lagoon....I read some time ago that it was wonderful to swim in...but to be sure you used only biodegrabale sun screen...and that they were quite strict about this. Recently, however, I read in a review that the lagoon was closed to the public. Is this true?

Also, is biodegrable sun screen required to snorkel or swim in other areas of the park? If so, where did you find biodegradable sun screen? A health food store?

Thanks!

I'm in Houston...I've been able to get biodegradable sunscreen at Whole Foods.

I've been to Chankanaab a few times and I don't think you are able to swim in the lagoon.

We were there Christmas and there was no swimming in the lagoon. We bought bio-degradable sun screen on-line (it came from Kansas, go figure) but no one at the park checked or asked what we were using. People were swimming in the pool, and of course the ocean.
