supernanny Posted January 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2008 If someone wants to replace their guest with another person how far in advance do you have to do this? Is it too late once they mail cruise documents? If not, how is this handled?
GORDONCHICK Posted January 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2008 If final payment hasn't been made, there shouldn't be a problem. If it's after final payment, most lines will charge a fee (usually around $50). I don't know how close you can still change the name.
wrp96 Posted January 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Usually you can change one or more of the names on a reservation (but not all the names) up until about 3 days before the cruise. Before final payment, there is no fee to do so. After final payment there is a small fee; the amount depends on the cruiseline.
vmom Posted January 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2008 Last year my daughter had major surgury 3 weeks before her scheduled cruise. About a week and half before the date of the cruise, someone else was found to go in her place. The cruise line made the substitution with no extra fees, they just substituted one name for the other. The other passengers she was traveling with remained the same. It was on Carnaval. There was no extra fee involved. I don't know if they typically charge a fee, but waived it since in my daughter's case it was a medical emegency.
