Snorkeling in Costa Rica

I'll be aboard the Miracle in a few weeks touring the Western Caribbean. I think that maybe I'd like to snorkel in Costa Rica. I know that Oscar Brown has such a tour. I'm wondering what the snorkeling is like though.

 

So, please tell me what the reef is like. I'd much rather spend the day at the beach, but if the snorkeling stinks I think I'd rather zip line.
