Meredith71 Posted January 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2008 My sister and I are going to St. Thomas in March on the Caribbean Princess. We are looking for excursions that are more active. We have done snorkling and shopping here before. We are not really interested in a tour of the island. We are 30-40ish and pretty fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on fun excursions that are a little more phyical. We were thinking bikes or kayaks or something like that. Is there any zipline tours in St. Thomas? Thanks, Meredith
bruce-r Posted January 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Discover Scuba dive at Coki Beach http://www.cokidive.com You won't think snorkeling is all that fun after trying scuba diving.
The Islander Posted January 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2008 No ziplines. There is an eco-kayak-tour on St. Thomas: http://www.viecotours.com. You can rent kayaks at some beaches. Could try windsurfing. There is a bike tour on Water Island, http://waterislandadventures.com/. And on St. John there is a company that offers kayak trips and bike trips, not sure if it would fit with a cruise schedule but you can check it out at: http://www.arawakexp.com/. --Islander

beachchick Posted January 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2008 My sister and BIL did an eco kayak-snorkel combo tour, part of which was through the marine preserve with part of the snorkeling in a mangrove area. They saw manatees and lots of wildlife you might not normally see. The excursion was about 4 hours; it was one of only two excursions we booked through the cruise line, so I'm not sure what company it was. My sister and BIL, mid-30s, healthy, and very active, absolutely raved about how great it was. It was one of the highlights of our 2-week long trip. My DH and I went to St. John on our own and snorkeled at Trunk Bay, but there were only 3 ships in port and it was a fairly quiet time, so we didn't have to contend with crowds or anything. beachchick
