sashababy Posted January 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2008 I would like to know if anyone has been bothered by music in cabin 6005 or 6004 on the Regatta? The two cabins are right above the stage and dance floor on deck 5. My dh and I are light sleepers and would not like to be kept awake by the music from the band below us. If fellow CC have stayed in these two rooms, please let me know about the noise level in the rooms.
tgg Posted January 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Yes, you will hear the music. You'll hear it in the afternoon when they rehearse and at night if you happen to go to bed early.
sashababy Posted January 9, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Have you stayed in the rooms? Until what time of night does the band play? Would the noise stop you from booking the rooms? Thank you for your help.
orchestrapal Posted January 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2008 We have had Vista suites 3 times on Oceania when were unable to get the Owners suites AND THE ANSWER IS NO WE WOULD NEVER BOOK THEM AGAIN. EVEN WITH YOUR OWN MUSIC PLAYING THE VERY LOUD AND THUMPING PERCUSIAN FROM BELOW takes some of the fun out of having such wonderful accomodations You wind up sitting and waiting for the noise each afternoon and evening until 11:30-12:30.
orchestrapal Posted January 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2008 We have been in the adjoining Vista suite when we were unable to get an Owners suite. NEVER AGAIN! The percussion thumping each afternoon and evening took much joy out of the enjoyment of the suite. Try getting the suites in the back of the ship.
tgg Posted January 10, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2008 We stayed in a cabin close by. The music at night didn't bother us because we were usually at the show or enjoying some late night conversation with people somewhere else on the ship. I think the music was over by 11:00 or 11:30. Would I choose another cabin on my next cruise? Yes, because not only do you hear the music but you also hear the anchor being raised or lowered. I'd stay on deck 6 but move further aft. Rare msn123 Posted January 12, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2008 We happen to like the extra interior rooms in these cabins and do continue to book them. While you do hear some thumping from below, it always ended by 11.
photoguy99 Posted January 16, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2008 We were on identical ship Nautica July 2007, staying in 6004. I am also a light sleeper. I never heard a thing. I didn't even know that dancing was going on below us. I was usually in bed by 10 or 11 for a busy next day. The ship is very quiet. The casino is quiet. We did go to a dance/reception in the main theatre but it was over early. I never went to the evening disco/bar where they had a DJ, but I assume it was also quiet. Don't worry about a thing
