cruzadict Posted January 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2008 I have been offered a good price on an obstructed view cabin on the QM2. Has anyone any comments on these cabins and are there any cabin numbers that are better than others in terms of any views. The difference between these cabins and an A2 cabin in almost £800 per person. Do you think that this amount is worth it? Many thanks for any suggestions. rog747 Posted January 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2008 hi there i have booked b6 grades 8013/8015 on qm2 16 oct we got a great price and these deck 8 cabins are supposed to nice and light wiv possibly a tiny view here and there... alot of posters here say these are good for TA trips except u wont go out on the balcony much as its too wet n windy lol! the b1-b4's are enclosed hull balconies which i am interested to see, good views and less wind no doubt! possibly abit dark? anyone been in 8013/8015? pls let me know how it is too thank you! cruzadict Posted January 11, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Hi rog747 We had an enclosed balcony for our transatlantic in June 2007 and found that it was great. Some people have said that they found them to be dark but we found that it was perfect for TA as it sheltered you from any wind. Still got a lot of spray though so really not too good for sitting outside, but there is soo much going on on the ship that we didn't have much time anyway!! RobertQM2 Posted January 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2008 ..........obstructed view cabin on the QM2............ I just can recomend it, we've been in 8082 on our TA and as mentioned there is so much to do on the ship that we hardly used it although the weather was fine. Another advantage is that you are close to deck 7 for jogging, eating etc. Only on a caribbean cruise it could be hard to sit in front of a life boat and behind is a lovely village. But even here one goes ashore and there is no need for the balcony either. It's a fine way to save a few $ here for spending them in Todd English's.
