Beyondships Cruise Blog

Beyondships

Recommended Posts

I have added a blog to the Beyondships website. Its initial purpose is two-fold: First, to give some background on the various articles and items that are posted elsewhere on the site. Second, to comment on various news items about cruising that seem interesting and to which I feel I can add some perspective.

The blog can be found at: http://beyondships.com/blog.htm. There is also a shadow blog at

http://journals.aol.com/beyondships/beyondships-cruise-blog/

I hope you find it interesting.

I've liked looking at the cruise ship profiles and photos on your website. The information has been quite useful.

However, I wanted to point out that the first link to your blog does not work on my browser. I was able to find the blog and then your website from the second link above.

I had the same problem with the 1st link on your OP, but followed your directions going to the .com option

Great site! I really enjoyed it and have book marked it for future travels..

Are you open to a suggestion or feedback?

Thank you. Yes, I would be very interested in your suggestions.

Hi!

First, I want you to know that I think you have an excellent site, and I REALLY enjoyed wandering through it!

The following section was a little hard on the eyes..with the smaller font and green background.

It's such a minor, trivial thing, but I know we all put a lot of love and patience into building sites and want it to be the best that we can do...so I thought you might like to know

I was almost blown away when I logged onto your blog and found a picture of Chris who had been master of Queen Mary 2. My wife and I shared his table twice while he was with Princess. First was on the Sky. We also met his parents ..Shirley and Peter who were sailing with him. Our second meeting was on the Royal back in 1999 on a cruise to Chile. Chris is a first rate master and a wonderful gentleman. My wife and I consider ourselves fortunate to have Chris as part of our cruise memories. We will be sailing on the "new" Royal at the end of April 2008.

I really enjoyed your blog!!! Do you have any info about the carnival conquest? Was very impressed with your photo of the Destiny menu. I have seen other photos of cruise ship menus but they weren't of the same quality.

Julie

Thank you for your nice comments. Unfortunately, I do not have a section on Conquest yet. I do, however, have a section on the site about Carnival Glory, which is a Conquest-class ship and was built shortly after Conquest.

I am glad you are getting such positive feedback for your efforts. I agree with the request for some info on the Carnival Conquest. I was a crew member on her for a full year in the dining rooms and am curious to see what has changed... if anything! I saw some of the most outrageous stuff you can imagine while there!

Your first link requires a correction to work properly.

You net the extension html at the end, not just htm:D

Actually I just realized that the corrected link goes to a discontinued/old blog.

I looked at your link on your webpage and it goes to http://beyondships.blogspot.com/

I think this is the correct link to your current blog - yes?

:D

Yes. The blog now appears at the address you listed. Also, as you indicate that address can be reached through my webpage.

I also still continue to post the blog at the AOL address listed in the first post above:

As an experiment in regularity, I am going to have a new post each Sunday on my blog http://beyondships.blogspot.com/ I write about cruise people that I have interviewed and cruise ships I have photgraphed that appear on www.Beyondships.com and elsewhere. But, I also wite the occasional opinion, review or thought about cruising. My thought is that if these blog posts appear on a regular basis, it might be more convenient for readers.
