AllmanJoy Posted September 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2004 We will be cruising on October on the Sun Princess for 10 days. Our stop in St. Kitts happens to fall on a Sunday, what can I expect? Will shops be open on Sunday? We plan to do the St. Kitts Railway in the am & shop in the pm. Any advice? Mac Pete Posted September 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2004 AllmanJoy (love the name!) While I cant comment personally on the railraod tour, I have heard both good and bad about it. I can tell you fom experience, the Nevis sailaway is fantastic, I've posted details here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=69135 Well worth the price. Enjoy your cruise! Wormtown Posted September 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2004 My DH and I were in St. Kitts on a Sunday back in February. Most of the shops were closed. We did the Catamaran Fan-ta-sea Tour which was wonderful. It was a 6 hour excursion where we did some snorkeling and then on to a beautiful beach in Nevis. We had a barbecue on the beach and some time for swimming. It was a little pricey, but very much worth it. Some of our tablemates did the railroad tour, thought it was fun, but a little scary in some spots. Enjoy your cruise. Linda
AllmanJoy Posted September 19, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Mac Pete: Thanks, I came up with the name in a funny sorta way. My last name is Allman, and my husband is a practical joker. I am constantly telling him he is nuts. His reponse is, "of course, I'm an Allman (Almond)". It helps that his favorite candy is an "Almond Joy". Hence the name AllmanJoy!!!!;) Wormtown & Liz Pereira: Thanks for the responses. We decided to go with the St. Kitts Railway. I am a little disappointed that a lot of shops were closed on Sunday:( . Maybe with more ships switching from the Alaska to the caribbean itinerary in October, more shops will be open. Turtle Beach looks really nice, perhaps we will have a chance to check it out. Thanks again :) .
