clerky96 Posted January 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2008 Or are those reserved for the vip cabins? We have never been seated at a window, but would like to. Never really thought to ask.
electricron Posted January 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2008 It never hurts to ask.
Grandpaul Posted January 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2008 One way is to be near the front of the line when the restaurant opens. Another is to "talk" to the maitre D. Always works for me.
old sole Posted January 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2008 Of course. Just ask. Those are almost always large, shared tables though.
KerCar Posted January 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2008 The best way to get a window seat is go to dinner as early as possible. If you are one of the first to arrive, you'll have your pick of window seats:) Well worth it!
JenDalessan Posted January 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2008 We got a table for 11 by the window on the Sun. It was not expected and we really enjoyed it.
Cosmopolitan Posted January 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2008 We always ask for a table by the window. When the restaurant has windows;) How many people are you travelling with? We are 2 and seldom had a problem. The day you board the ship, if you go to the main restaurant for lunch instead of the buffet, ask for a table at the aft., window and enjoy a wonderful, relaxing lunch:)
Grandpaul Posted January 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2008 I assume you're talking about the back window. Sometimes if you ask for a window seat they put you by the side windows. There a some tables for 4 by the back window. As mentioned, getting there early is the best way to get one. If you have a room with a Concierge, they can get you one also. But you still have to show up early. Great view though.

If a table for 4 is open and you are only 2 - they will give you the table, IF you request it;)
WinnieinWA Posted January 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2008 Of course. Just ask. Those are almost always large, shared tables though. In the Venetian on my cruise a few weeks ago on the Dawn there were a lot of tables for 2 at the windows. I think it all depends on when you show up to dine. We ate breakfast every morning in Venetian about 9 AM and had a window seat each day. Since you can't see outside in evening we didn't care where we were seated. We never had to wait for a table for 2. Winnie
bluefintuna Posted January 18, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2008 Windows in the Venetian dining room are beautiful.
KerCar Posted January 18, 2008 #12 Share Posted January 18, 2008 The day you board the ship, if you go to the main restaurant for lunch instead of the buffet, ask for a table at the aft., window and enjoy a wonderful, relaxing lunch:) This is such a great piece of advice that not too many people know about. Right after we boarded we headed straight to Windows. Although the ship was sold out, there were only about 5 other groups of people eating lunch there. We later came to realize that most of them were from our roll call!!!!! It was a great way to start off the trip:)
Don Haynes Posted January 18, 2008 #13 Share Posted January 18, 2008 Since so many docks are in the industrial areas, I prefer to ask for a table by a window at the ports that don't look like ports when I don't go ashore when there are less passengers aboard. mcmarya Posted January 18, 2008 #14 Share Posted January 18, 2008 On our recent Pearl cruise we had a window seat for every dinner--Summer Palace, Mambos, and La Cucina. Sometimes we asked, but usually we were just given the tables, but we usually ate at 5:30 p.m. They are not reserved for certain cabins for sure because we were in an inside cabin.
