What's the best island to plan for a helicopter trip. Some at the office suggested Kauai.I need help from the experts, thanks. This is the only island we don't have anything plan on. The island we are going to are Hawaii,Maui,Kauai, and Oahu.

Cruises I have been on ?

We did Island Helicopters on Kauai and it was FANTASTIC!!! By far the best island to see from a helicopter. On the Big Island, we did a airplane tour through Molulele Fight Service. It was the best way to see the volcano's and as time was limited on the island, it gave us time to see a few more things in Hilo. Also the price was about half of the helicopter and it was just as long (about a hour). We enjoyed both tours, but Kauai was our favorite...

twofromcolumbus: Did you think the views on the airplane were as good as what you could see from the helicopter? We are also planning a helicopter ride on Kauai and then we are thinking about a helicopter ride on the Big Island too. Would you recommend the airplane over the helicopter on the Big Island or is it just a better price? Thanks for your input.

Can't wait till 5/19/04 on the Wind

We used Island Helicopters on Kauai. It was a great experience. Kauai is so awesome! And the view from the helicopter is breathtaking!
Make sure you have lots of film for your camera. DH and I used all our film in 2 cameras and took video. The pictures came out great as did the video.
Enjoy your ride!

Sorry for not responding sooner; At first cost was a factor for the plane as we were doing a helicopter too. But I was very happy with the plane; It was just my wife and I and our pilot. The views were outstanding. And as he flew over the STAR (we were on a cruise), I got some great pictures. However, on Kauai I would do the helicopter. The landscapes (waterfalls, canyons, cliffs, etc, you have better access with the helicopter. For flying over the volcano's, the plane was great. We saw flames, lava flow etc.
