snorkelling in the rain at Kona?

We are going to be on The Star next week. Yipee!!! Long range weather keeps showing rain/thunderstorms M-W(see Aston Hotels website for 15 day forecasts for each island.)

Should be go ahead and plan the snorkeling excursion (thru Barefoot Tours with Bodyglove, because it leaves from the Pier by the Star at
9am.)

Should we buy the tickets to be sure if it doesn't rain? Will they cancel in rain?

(15 Day forecasts for each island are on theAston Hotel website)

If I remember right, it was raining when I went on the Fair Winds. We ended up all inside, which made it a tight fit on the way back to Keauhou, but it worked. However, it didn't stop us from having fun...didn't matter if there was rain on our backs while snorkeling since there was all that ocean on our front sides... The weather changes here a lot...and a lot of times it is clear and sunny (and HOT) downtown when it is raining (and cool) up mauka...I wouldn't change anything.

Hope you have a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Aloha,
Emi

Weather.com states partially sunny/cloudy next next week Monday and Tuesday (4/19-20) in Kona with a 10% chance of precipitation. Just to prove that long term forecasts (more than a couple of days out) are really a crap shoot - weather in Hawaii changes so regularly that I wouldn't worry about it either. Go!! You are very right! Long-range forecasts predicted good weather on my wedding day and on the first part of my honeymoon in Maui but rain in Kona on the second part. I got thunderstorms on my wedding day and fabulous weather in Hawaii. So go figure! Just don't let the weather bother you!
