Nile family cruise with children

We are thinking about taking our three children--ages 11,9 and 6--on an Abercrombie and Kent three-day Nile cruise. Does anyone have experience with children on A and K Nile family cruises--food, health, activities?

No experience here, and I check thru the boards and A & K cruises doesn't have it's own board....

 

I just want to say, WOW! My kids would love for you to adopt them!

We did the complete A&K package with our 7 year old daughter, we stayed 3 days in the 4 Seasons First Residence. Fabulous! Our daughter got very special attention like her own sized bath robe and a chocolate cooke with her name on it, she felt she really was a princess. Tour guide was outstanding and our daughter again got all the attention which worked out very well as we trecked all over Cairo in our own van w/guide and the nearby Pyramids. Children do seem to be treasured in Egypt. Like the entire trip, by the way, we felt extremely safe and secure - security was very good and not once did we seem threatened or unsafe. The cruise part of the package we were concerned because our daughter was the only child but she had a great time, swimming in the ship's pool, pestering the crew (who were extremely child friendly) and then dancing with the Nubian dancers at the end of the cruise. Because our daughter is a very picky eater we were very concerned but the chef made special child friendly meals just for her. (The grown up food was outstanding.) A&K ships are really the best - clean comfortable and you feel like you are sailing with Cleopatra up the Nile. One is certainly pampered like Cleopatra. The ship was clean and very well appointed. You can not go wrong in choosing A&K. It was well worth it and one of the best trips we have taken - we all want to go back.
