Roatan Or Grand Turk

Need help deciding on a ship iin September. Actually, I am asking which island has more to do with sightseeing. Do not want any water sports at all. From what I read, it seems nearly everything is water-related. Anything worth seeing on these islands? Thanks.

i was in grand turk twice. i loved it, but there was nothing to see really. but i like the beach and sun.

Both islands are beach/water destinations. Roatan is mountainous, well hilly anyway:p , and does offer a zip line/canopy tour if that would interest you. Grand Turk is a flat coral island.

grand turk is fun, small isle only 6miles long by 1mile or so wide

rent a moped there, it is only about $45 for a day, $30 half day

gasoline included

 

roatan is unspoilt and undeveloped east of the capital coxen hole,

it is very americanized west of town, i don't know if that is better!

west bay is nice

you can go ziplining there, fun fun fun

be very wary if you rent a car from avis on roatan, we did that in november and the car was a pos, upon our return avis in the us refunded us the full cost of the rental

We were on the Valor in November and although we loved all the ports, there was something about Roatan that made it our favorite. Maybe the lack the commercialization, the friendlieness of the people, the beauty of the country and the beautiful beaches. We hired a driver through Victor Bodden (who is highly recommended on cruise critic) and we had a wonderul day. Just my opinion!! :)
