wait for tender?

This may be a dumb question but here goes--We will be on our first cruise in Feb and will be stopping in Belize (tender) We do not have any excursions planned here as we have friends that live in Belize (they are new missionaries) and we were hoping to meet them there and just visit while we were in port.

 

We are supposed to be in Belize from 7 to 4. What time we will we be able to leave the ship as I know those with ship excursions get tendered first--right??? I need to know what time would be reasonable to meet as they live about an hour away from Belize City. any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

If we are not on a tour we usually wait about 30 minutes from the time the first tender leaves before we go down to get a ride to the ports to do our shopping/sight seeing. Make sure you are back in time before the ship leaves because Belize time isn't necessarily the ship's time. Don't be afraid to ask what time the crew has as they are signing (swipping your card) you off the ship. And ask what time the ship leaves, then make sure the time on your watch matches the time on their watches. The crew is there to help you and make your trip enjoyable so don't be afraid to ask questions.

Make sure your watch is set to "ship's time"--and ignore the clocks at your friend's house! That way, there's no chance of getting the time confused and missing the ship. You have to be onboard at least 1/2 prior to sailing!
