Is this hotel in a safe area to walk around at night?

 

If anyone has tried the Heidelberg German Restaurant how was it?

We stayed there last May and thought it had a great location, you could walk out the back and through the Yankee Clipper and be on the beach. It is right on the Sun Trolley line which runs Thursday - Sunday until about 10pm. DH and I did walk at night from the restaurants farther down the beach and felt completely safe. We did not eat at the restaurant you asked about and therefore can't comment. I would go back there again. Have a great vacation!!

Oops, I just noticed you said Oceanside and I was asking about the Airport/Cruise Port Best Western. Hopefully someone else will reply.

I'm just curious, Bequia. Two years ago, we stayed at an old...but clean...Best Western overlooking Port Everglades. Across the street from the Hyatt. Great location, within walking distance to the water taxi.

 

Friends leaving in three weeks on Princess are wondering if it's still there. Do you know?

 

It had been sold when we stayed there, and wonder if it was torn down or turned into something else.

It was torn down. The developer is doing battle with the city to construct a hi-rise that would include retail, condos, a hotel and a marina.
