Tubing the ditch in Kauai

NCL offers an excursion in Kauai called "Tubing the Ditch". A long lazy river type ride that requires headlamps because it goes through dark tunnels. I was wondering a couple of things....1. Is this worth the astronomical price of $85. The company even charges this amount. 2. Does anyone know where I can get a discount on this ( I have the EB Hawaii book, not in there) and 3. We love lazy river rides at water parks but is this really worth the $85 per person charge? Thanks...Marilyn

Marilyn: I remember awhile back that there were people talking about this excursion and as I recall they really enjoyed it. I haven't seen anything recently though.

I did a search on it and the above website's magazine is located all over the islands and it has discounts in it. I could not see if there was a coupon in there for the tubing but it is featured in there. And apparently you can order the booklet before you come here.

We took this excursion in November. Found it to be very enjoyable. Excellent and extremely helpful staff. Don't expect to see much scenery as most of the time the ditch is much below ground level. The lunch was lunch meats, pita bread and a variety of fresh fruit.
