Mickeefan Posted January 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2008 We are booked on AOS for a Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan in December. We booked a Promenade room on deck 6. Can anyone tell me what the noise level is like? Can you hear a lot going on down on the promenade? Thanks.

Conanc Posted January 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Hi, We were in a Promenade Room on the Liberty and enjoyed it (and we are normally balcony lovers). We didn't notice a lot of noise on that ship. I would only suggest that if possible, you move up a deck so that you are between passenger decks, or just be sure you are not directly above one of the bars or other venues with live music. It may disturb you in the evening. Also, you have to keep your drapes closed as people on the Promenade or in the cabins directly across from you will be able to see inside your room. Enjoy! trvlbug08 Posted January 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2008 We had a promenade cabin on deck 7 when we sailed the AOS last March. We didn't hear any noise except on the nights there was a parade. The parade was only 30 minutes and it was over by 11:00. We enjoyed sitting in our room and watching the parade with a drink in hand. It was a great location and we would stay in a promenade cabin again. It is a great way to people watch! You will love the AOS. We would sail her again in a heartbeat! robtulipe Posted January 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2008 I actually enjoyed our PR (#6577) cabin on Adventure more than the balcony or ocean view cabins we had on other ships but being on deck six over the pub made it noisier in the evening as we could hear the entertainer below. The lights in the Royal Promenade area are only dimed a bit at night so you will have to use the curtains to obtain total darkness in the room. Also since the PR cabin on the opposite side overlooks your window you must close the curtains or at least the sheers to have privacy
