melgray13 Posted January 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2008 I know that there are restrictions on what you can bring on the ship after a day at port. What's the story on food? I've heard fruit is a no no, but what about other stuff - like candy, pastries, etc. Hubby is wondering if we find something yummy in Europe can we bring extras back on the ship. Sue L Posted January 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2008 It is more an issue bringing things OFF the ship rather then on.
cb at sea Posted January 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2008 That's right. But, anything pre-packaged and wrapped from a factory is usually ok. You can't take things off the ship, like fruit, plants, meats, etc... Cross-contamination with bugs, pests, etc... can be a problem.
cruisefanatic01 Posted January 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2008 I doubt that you'll be able to bring any food back on the boat with you. Most cruise ships won't allow it. Also, if you decide to purchase alcohol while at the port, you'll have to give it to them to hold until the end of the cruise. You'll get it back when you are ready to depart the boat.
