What can you bring on the ship from port?

I know that there are restrictions on what you can bring on the ship after a day at port. What's the story on food? I've heard fruit is a no no, but what about other stuff - like candy, pastries, etc. Hubby is wondering if we find something yummy in Europe can we bring extras back on the ship.

Thanks

I doubt that you'll be able to bring any food back on the boat with you. Most cruise ships won't allow it. Also, if you decide to purchase alcohol while at the port, you'll have to give it to them to hold until the end of the cruise. You'll get it back when you are ready to depart the boat.
