USD exchange rate

Best thing you can do is go to Nationwide Building Society and open a Flexaccount.

Its a free account. Ask for a Visa debit card on that account.

Use the card in whatever country you are in to draw local currency from a hole in the wall.

There will be no charges of any description and you will get a fantastically good rate, at least about 3% better than if you got the foreign currency any other way.

Forgive me, but it may be commission free at the ATM, but any CASH withdrawn on a CREDIT CARD will attract interest - so no saving there, I think.

Cococabana, a Visa DEBIT card is not a CREDIT card, it is a debit card (as the name hints) and does not have charges on CASH withdrawals.

Is it worth while getting US dollars before I go on Balmoral in March? Anyone know what the exchange rates are like onboard Fred Olsen ships?

I'm gonna answer my own question here, hopefully someone will find it helpful! I exchanged money before I went 1.91 USD to the £, only to find a better rate onboard ship, cant remember what it was now though.
